OUR WORK

INSTRUMENTS

A ONE OF A KIND BUILT...

When you own a Ventura Guitar Company, you´re acquiring a unique instrument. Every single one of my guitars are built as “one of a kind.” Nobody else would have an instrument that looks just like yours (at least not made by me.) Each instrument is 100% handmade with 100% US-made parts and hardware (yes, even the hard case that comes with it!).

VGC PHILOSOPHY

I strongly believe that each instrument is different in every way; each has its own personality, sound, feel, vibe, mojo, and imperfections, so why make them all look the same?

Since this is not a production line / massive output factory, here at VGC, the creativity limit is the sky.

MODELS

Anacapa T (T style)
Anacapa Offset (JM style)
Oxnard Bass (PB style)

All VGC instruments are based on classical bolt-on models but I do not follow specs or make replicas of any particular brand or eras.

COSTS

Most of my builds are in the price range between $1500-$2300 and up to $2800 for more complex custom work. The final price depends on building complexity and materials selection. I truly try to keep every VGC as affordable as possible.

If you decide to use the custom shop service, a 50% no refund deposit of the final price will be required before starting the building process and the other 50% before shipping the instrument. Please be aware that Custom Shop instruments are not refundable.

CUSTOM SHOP

If you are interested in building a guitar based on your own specifications, please DOWNLOAD the PDF file, fill it, send it to me by email or call me and I will add you to the waiting list. The waiting list at this moment takes between 3 to 6 months.

HOW TO ORDER YOUR VGC

The best way to buy a Ventura Guitar Company instrument (and the fastest) is on my Instagram shop, Reverb, or by sending an email HERE. When you start following me on social media, you get the opportunity to see when they go on sale. Every time I have a new instrument ready, I post it, and it is a “first come, first serve” sale situation.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to communicate with me. Thank you.

ABOUT US

ABOUT

My name is Jackson, I’ve been working with musical instruments for the last 15 years of my life. I started as a backline tech and roadie in South America, then moved to the US and started working as a repair tech at Guitar Center. I did this for 7 years.

When I moved to LA in 2014, I immediately enrolled at M.I. (Musicians Institute College) in Hollywood for Guitar Craft, learning from some of the best luthiers/teachers in the industry. Immediately after graduating, I started working at Fender, I was hired as a seasonal final assembly tech.

In January 2016, I landed at Guild Guitars, new California factory then, and worked as an apprentice of Ren Ferguson. There, I was able to do many different tasks and was able to participate in the building process of many guitars, some of them ended up with players like Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses), John Rznenick (Goo Goo Dolls), Wesley Shultz (The Lumineers), Curt Chambers (Alícia Keys, Rihanna), Levi Hummon, Nikki Lane, Doyle Dikes, Rival Sons and Marcus King.

Two years later I was promoted at the Cordoba Custom Shop as a full-time builder of the “Master Series” guitars, building replicas of some of the most iconic nylon-string models such as Torres, Hauser, Rodriguez, Reyes and Limited editions as well.

In 2018, I officially registered Ventura Guitar Company as a business in the city of San Buenaventura, California. First, I started just doing repairs and then I moved to building my first guitars by the Fall of 2019.

I was able to show a couple of them at the winter NAMM 2020 Anaheim, California.

There are only two things that have been consistent throughout my entire life, my love for my family and friends, and my love for music and guitars! JH
